Mike by the photo it looks as if the Givi screen fits on the headlamp mount bolts and nowhere else, is that correct? (That is, no handlebar clamps?)
Yes, very easy fitting, ideally the adjustable bracket either side should go inside the headlamp clamps, but I ended up putting them outside the clamps, (as per first photo on this thread from motorworks), they are brushed SS so look OK.
The reason they are better outside is the one thing the screen contacts on the instrument binnacle is the trip meter zero'ing thingy, I even added a couple of extra washers inside the screen brackets to avoid putting too much pressure on the zero'ing thingy.
OK, test report.
With screens there are (at least) 4 variables, screen height, screen angle, seat height and rider height.
That's why its not often easy to get an ideal setting.
Obviously the height and angle are interlinked on this and most screens, i.e. highest screen angle = highest screen height (pushed forward position), lowest angle = lowest screen position pulled back position.
Luckily with this screen on the R65, the full range of adjustment is available.
Seat height is obviously fixed on the R65, as is rider height ,though the latter is a very important consideration, i.e. what suits me may very well not suit you.
So bottom line with this screen the only position that works for me is the most pulled back position, any further forward and I start to get whistling noises above 40mph, and in the most forward position, I get severe helmet shaking turbulence, I'm a shorty (5' 7").
With the screen in the pulled back position my helmet is "just" in clear air, A bit disappointing (but not surprising), I was hoping I might have the option to use in the most forward position & ride with helmet visor (shield) up, but at least there is a position that works and it also looks best in this position.
One other variable of course is bar height, (I'm told mine are higher than standard).
