Sorry ya had to rebuild it Tony
But will be interested in a report though. I have another 32:10 on the shelf now for the current R65
Don't feel sorry Wilcom, I was *always* going to put a bearing and seal kit through it, after all that FD is at least 40 years old now. I'm sort of leaning towards keeping my R65, albeit customised my way. The upper K100 plastic has now been sent for repair, the next step will be to see if the RS/RT "side skirts" around the cylinders can be mated to the K100 fairing - the mounts most certainly do not line up but the actual parts look like they might, a question of bracketry.
I've just about committed to using a K100 tank as well, again a question of fabricating the brackets to fit. I'm hoping that the end result will be a reasonably powerful, decent looking, well handling confection that will cause curiosity and consternation wherever airhead owners gather. The only other modification I'm considering is a Monolever rear end from an early model G/S mated with the final drive from an R80- this would let me use (after modification) the K100 rear wheel so that my wheels will match. I may consider using a paralever rear end, but one will have to fall into my hands as I'm not about to mortgage a kidney for one.
One thing that has given me pause for thought was corresponding with an Australian Guy who has fitted a turbo-charged R100 engine and gearbox to a K100 frame - the end result being pretty much where I want to get to with significantly less fabrication..... Options, options.
Adrian, sorry for this in your thread, if anyone wants to discuss my thinking further let's move to a more appropriate conference.
