I have the same issue on my lathe.  I converted to a DC motor and use a variable controller board.  It generates enough "RF" to cause the inductive pickup tachometer I installed on the lathe to read improperly.  Sometimes I look up and see I am turning a piece well over 4000 RPM!!!  Now, that's screaming...  ;)
