A pic isn't going to help much; the mod was a shorter screw. I suppose I could give it a try, later (at work now). Here's the deal; the sidestand (on mine) pivots on a 8 mm, I think, flathead screw that has an extension out the back side, about 1/2 inch, that catches the notched spring plate where the three springs join (see drawing on realoem). If yours is like mine, the notch in the spring plate keeps the plate from going forward enough that the springs are over-center. removing the extension, as by using a shorter screw, lets the springs go over center and hold the stand forward and down. Take a peak under there with it up on the center stand, work the side stand and see how the screw stops the spring plate and springs. Cost was about half a buck for the screw; I suppose I could have just clipped off the extension on the OEM screw with bolt cutters or a hacksaw and had the same effect, but there's something satisfying about new hardware.
