Well, John and the Missus just pulled away, leaving me R65less once again. We discussed him selling Britta, he really has no room to keep her, and I told him I'd try to help find her a good new home. Just thought I'd put a bit of info here while he travels home, so here goes.
In the last 1000 miles, Britta has received:
New Hagon rear shocks.
New Bridgestone Spitfire tires.
A Reynolds Ride-Off centerstand, to compliment the Brown's Sidestand.
A Russell Daylong Saddle, with the stock seat also included, and separate rear cowlings for both.
A
very hard to find new-in-bag Mustang fuel tank cover. I scoured the earth for this one, other members can testify!
Carbs rebuilt, full tuneup with valve adjustment, new plugs, clutch adjustment, etc.
A low mileage rear drive was added appx 20K ago also.
Britta also has full hard cases and racks, with locks and keys, and a Reynolds folding rear luggage rack. Large National Cycle windshield, also a key for the fork lock. Oh, and a rebuilt and
accurate speedometer from Palo Alto BMW. Documentation and receipts for all work and parts has been kept.
On the less than stellar side, the old girl does have 143K on the clock. John had the top end rebuild and a new clutch added around 25K ago, and with excellent regular maintenance she runs strong, no smoke, and uses no oil. No leaks or funny noises.
It might not be a bad idea to think about new brake pads and shoes, they stop fine but the rear is nearly out of adjustment.
All lights, switches, etc work great, except for the neutral indicator. I got used to that quickly as you can feel when the bike is in neutral, although it should be fixed at some point. A small relay behind the left side cover has gone out.
That's pretty much it.
I'm sure John will have more to add later, and he plans to include a few pics too for those unfamiliar with Britta. For a quick, clean sale, he is asking $1800 or best offer, which is a total steal, guaranteed.

If interested, please PM or email John, or me, if you need info or have other questions.
Thanks.
