Looks like poor Andy is fixin' to throw-up...  :P

Phorqs, maybe saying it shifts more like a jap bike was stretching things a bit.  I probably should have said that the shift throws are a lot shorter than an Airhead, more like a jap bike.

The ergonomics seem a bit better for me as on all of our Airheads I have to let my arms dangle for a few seconds about every 1.5 - 2 miles.  Commuting to work today I only had to dangle the right arm once going and another time on the ride home.  I'll still need to make a cruise control for it (think I'll copy Suraklyn's ThrottleMeister when he ain't lookin') but it is definitely rideable without one.  I want to improve on the ThrottleMeister in that I want a lever to engage/disengage it instead of having to screw the bar-end in and out...  Then again, now that I am injected and there are speed sensors on the wheels an electronic cruise seems feasible.  Time for Suraklyn to put that engineering learnin' to use and build me a neat Christmas present!   [smiley=Oscar.gif]

Justin, I do like the Throttlemeister on mine as well as the adjustable wind screen.  Show us what you come up with.  What I do miss are the heated grips but some of those Aerostich elk skin gloves may do the trick.  And actually the shifting isn't so bad if you pre-load the shift lever.  Actually my R65 is the smoothest shifting BMW I've ridden.

Congrats on the new wheels and enjoy the ride to Tennessee.  Mrs Phorqs and I are heading to North Carolina on 11 July to visit family and then head to the rally from there.  Lots of excellent roads all through W. North Carolina and E. Tennessee and I'm ready to go!

Hey, hey Justin - better late than never -  a very nice looking bike.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif] But the rigmarole of getting it to you must have been a pain....

Best of British on your new acquisition.

Congratulations Justin. You'll be able to fly now! Only part of the RT I had that I miss is the smooth power and so much of it! Loved the adj. windscreen too. It was simply too big for me in tight spots.
I am getting excited to see you all at the national!
1983 R65LS - LRB still my favourite!? 1988 Honda NX250, "Toodles Too" and a Suzuki DR650, "Calypso." All stored in the "Brrrmmm Closet".

Sue, it's a lot smoother than an Airhead and very comfortable.  But, much more complex and possible breakdowns worry me a bit...  Probably won't be at the rally but will be at Deals Gap the week after the 4th...
