So you didn't mind taking delivery on a Sunday?   ;) ;)

It looks pretty!  The crash bars would have to grow on me, but as one that seems to crash a lot, I can see their appeal!

Has it seen official service?  If so, how long has it been out?

So you are officially a member of the 'darkside' now Justin  !!

Great looking bike, and you won't regret getting the bike, just a bit different experience, from an airhead point of view .

It shifts almost like a jap bike and I think I'm gonna have "issues" switching between it and the R100.  The power brakes are also going to take some getting used to.  Rob, I told them to deliver any day, any time!  This came from msbuck's dealership and they were just traded in by the NC Highway Patrol - this one just rolled over 30k miles...

About the only thing that still gets me confused between the R65, and the R1150R, is the turn directionals .

[smiley=clap.gif]   Yay, it's finally there.  I'll bet you are relieved.

Very nice!  I can't wait to see a picture of you riding it.   ;)

Woohoo !  Nice bike !

From the first pic, I got worried and thought that maybe someone had pulled a switcheroo on ya and they were trying to push an old Harley 'Glide on on you in place of an oilhead (that would rally have been going to the 'dark side' !!!

There were some really nice hardware on that truck!  There was a pristine R90/6 on the upper deck but I forgot to snap a pic of it.

I put about 50 miles on it today and so far so good.  A big problem is that it's so smooth, and I'm so used to automatically computing indicated speed minus 10% (and riding accordingly) I'm afraid I'll get some tickets.  Guess I'll need to get a new radar detector! ;-)  Rob's right, though, the crash bars are gonna take a while to "grow" on me, too...

I mounted a set of fog lights to some of the existing brackets on the crash bars but so far I haven't been able to figure out how to set all of the additional switches correctly to make the wires by the brackets come hot.   :P

Congratulations on your new bike.  Have any trips plan in the near future for the new ride?

Other than the time it took to get the bike to you, would you recommend their services to anyone else that needs a bike moved across the country ?

Bob, as long as you aren't in a big hurry and don't get your hopes up too far after looking at their advertised averages.  The bike arrived in one piece, didn't have any damage I could tell, and everything in the truck seemed to be well secured.  I think that if you are not in a real big hurry then their service was a good value as they were a good $125 cheaper then the second lowest bid I received.  Most of the quotes I received were in the upper $600 range...

Stan, Suraklyn wants to head out to TN the week following the 4th to ride the "Tail of the Dragon" route so I'll probably tag along if my vacation request is approved.  Management was urging everybody to schedule/take vacation due to slow business and then last week they told us we might start working 10 hour days do to an influx of work!  Who knows, I've long since given up trying to figure things out...

Was in Austin, Texas this past weekend and stopped by Lone Star BMW Saturday morning for some free coffee and pastries. No wise cracks Benght... Pay attention to your new bride.  [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Anyway, Lone Star had a police bike much like J's for sale. Solo seat and cool aft box. The crash bars on the Denton, Texas PD's BMW mount sirens and assorted lights... hence the vertical alignment on the bars.

They are physically so much bigger than the R65s it's scary! By the way, Lone Star sells some very cool Triumphs, too. Drooling on my shirt...

Good on ya, Justin!  They are a lot different than the airheads.  I kind of have a love hate relationship with my 99 R1100RT.  Love the smooth ride and cruising speeds, hate the box of rocks transmission.  If yours is like a jap bike then there have been definite improvements.  Not a fun bike to ride in the heat of a Texas summer, especially when stuck in traffic, but what a hoot in the twisties.

Yep, if Barney Fife were a motorcycle cop he'd ride the R1150RTP.
