hello, world!

i'll be picking up an r65 next monday, then taking the rest of the week off to ride around the midwest until the indy 500.

it looks like a great bike for some backroad touring and i'm going to find out whether or not that's a true statement.

this site has been a great resource in making my decision, even before i joined, so thanks for all the time and effort that people put into it.

i'll get a ride report put together when i get back, i promise.  hopefully it's all sunshine and chocolate.

thanks again,

chris

Welcome and good luck with the riding.

I take it the bike is in good order and ready to roll.  Lucky chap!

Wecome Chris. What year is your R65?

I'm in your neck of the woods - about 100miles?

Time off to ride and a trip to Indy?  I like your style, six.  Can't think of a better way to break in a "new" bike.  8-) Looking forward to hearing more from you in the coming weeks.

it's an 86, well taken care of and maintained by a gentleman i know on advrider.

cad jim, i ride up around cadillac a couple times a year, and my wife and i often vacation in onekama.  breakfast at burke's waterfront restaurant...  mmmmmmmmmmmm.

it's about time for a long ride vacation and a "new" bike, so i thought i'd combine the two things.

thanks all for the warm welcome.

Chris:

Yes, Onekema is very nice. I'm headed to that area on Saturday (Empire Asparagus Festival). Wifes idea, but excellent ride as Empire also a Lake Michigan shoreline town.

Enjoy the vacation/riding

 ;D

yer fil is pretty hard core for chip ganassi racing.  i might have to take a lap around the track just looking for that wagon.

my dad and brother are penske guys, and i've always been an andretti fan.  i'm originally from indiana, and we've been going to the track for quite a while.

my wife bought me a "victory lap" last year.  it was awesome going around the track at about 80mph and feeling the pull.  i can't imagine what 220 feels like.

Hi Chris,

Pictures please!

My R65 has 92,000+ and is running so well I almost hate to take it apart for scheduled maintenance.  But I guess the scheduled maintenance is why it's running so well <sigh>.

Welcome aboard, Chris.  Yet another "Mono" surfaces!  Considering we've been led to believe they were only imported in small numbers,  this forum has attracted a bunch.

 [smiley=clap.gif]

I echo Bill.. post pictures.

Best,

Ed
