Be strong, and stay optimistic ! Bypass surgeries are very scary-seeming, but there are many, many performed every single day.
I recall when my mother went in for a bypass surgery, they initially told us it would be a 5 hour operation, and that they were going to
do a double bypass. One of the OR nurses came out to me in the waiting room after 3 hours in surgery, and I felt my heart stop, fearing the worst... She said that they were all done and were finishing closing her up and that they had actually performed 4 bypasses ! My mom
was 62 at the time and was otherwise quite healthy. She came back stronger than ever. Do expect her to be feeling miserable for a few days, but she'll grow stronger every day. The scary part is that they'll have her standing up and walking the hallways within 24 hours of the surgery !
We'll be praying for you both.
