I think you are see the choke lever and cables on the LH side of the air box.

At the age of 16 I once sneaked a fiat 500 engine up the stairs past my mum and hid it under my bed.

We had proper bedsteads in those days with plenty of space under them for a chamber pot or a spare engine.

That will be a bear to move on moving day, though!

I'd hook up some small DC gearmotors on the wheels underneath and embed an MP3 player or something to play sounds of a flat twin, and have some RC servos so it could move about the house to serve drinks...

So is that glass or plexi/Lucite? Your guess. Must have cost a couple bucks to get that cut and polished. Note all the small cuts n' curves.

Awhile back, there was a TV show about a guy that made some amazing furniture pieces utilizing parts of old aircraft. Must have been near Mojave CA and all those AC bone yards.

There might even be a market for high-end furniture items using motorcycle bits. You know the old saying, "There's a sucker born every minute".

Monte - you never cease to amaze me and make me smile with your funny pictures and sense of humor!

I got to use the spokes you gave me for balancing the Type 53 Carbs on the R60/5 Restoration - hopefully will post some pics - compared to the K75 and the R65LS, the R60/5 is an elegant ride - I've never driven a Rolls Royce but she's close!  Very smooth and classy.

Just put her away so I can focus on the R65LS Hot Rod! Wow does she handle nice.

Anyway, just wanted to say he to you guys!!! Without this forum, my R65 would probably still be a junker in the corner of the garage.

Good to hear from you, Ken. For the record, the trimmed spokes and threaded plug caps that are used in the carb balancing "shorting" technique are courtesy of Mike Valenti of Sand Dog CA. All I did was mail a couple to you.

Very kind of you, Monte!  Thanks again and thanks to Mike Valenti, another great person in the BMW universe.

I got good at balancing carb's that don't have vacuum ports.  Makes balancing the CV's look like a cakewalk - helps to have the Carb Mate or whatever it is -- it does the trick!
