That's new, as in '07 R1200R with 5K miles on the clock. I've had about 500 miles to get used to it, and it's as addictive as heroin.
It weighs just 40 pounds (18.2Kg) more than the LS and has more than double the horsepower. In it's defense, I have to say the LS was quite happy on twisty (and ofter rough) Vermont roads. But where the LS merrily sang down the road, the R absolutely storms. And it does it virtually silenty, except for a turbine-like whine and an occasional burble from the exhaust on a downshifting backoff.
I miss the compartments under the seat. I don't miss turning the gas on and off. I miss my Napoleon bar-enders. I don't miss the choke lever.
