R65 ATE caliper pistons, mufflers wanted
« on: March 29, 2008, 05:44:36 PM »
1979 R65 ATE brake caliper - Is the piston available ? If so, what's a good source ? I have found ATE repair kits for caliper, but doesn't appear to include piston, only rubber parts and clips.
Still looking for crossbrace/headlight assembly, including bucket and lens. AND mufflers....would consider aftermarket, but prefer OEM used. Any ideas ???

IF your ATE is the same as mine, then I believe that Motobins in England sells them in stainless steel.  And that you need two.  I've never seen any others for sale, though I bet if somebody would send Justin a good one he could make them for a bit less than Motobins.   I could use 4 of them for my bike, but that would be close to $400.   :-[

I have "manufactured" two of them for the '82 LS and although they "appear" to work while cruising around the back yard I have yet to give them a proper road test...

£48.00 per PAIR, Ed!  That is $95 for each caliper.  Very close to what I paid two years ago!

Hmm, I have been a war profiteer lately, working 12 hour overtime Sundays sometimes.  I should get a couple sets.
