With five bikes Mrs. Phorqs says that I'm like a little boy with his own merry-go-round.  Walk out to the garage and say "ooooo, which pony am I going to ride today?"

That looks like a serious street fighting machine.  Reminds me of when Sundance said to Butch after they blew up the mail car "reckon you used enough dynamite there Butch?"  What's the HP rating on that bad boy?

Well, my fiance has claimed the R65 as her own and I'm usually seen on the R75. The R60/2 with the sidecar is for special events and the R1100R for longer tours (really I prefer the R75).

i know where you heading with this, for me, its not about "how fast it goes" or "how big the engine is", the looks of it pulled me in first + its retro background + its air cooled (not a fan of watercooled bikes), took it for a test run & i was sold, that was 4yrs ago. It has about 110hp & pulls like a freight train.

I use the R1150R on weekdays ( my work week is Wed-Sun), then the R65 gets used on the weekend, and holidays, due to the collector insurance, bike can't be ridden to work, so I figure I can get away with it, as long at it isn't a 'normal' workday .

Oooh, sweet ride, Dav!   ;)

My '84 R65 "Britta' had been my daily ride for the past 6 years until I got my "dream bike", my '99 R1200C Classic in February (a Valentine's Day gift from my lovely wife Pattimarie).  So, Britta is in "semi-retirement" now, after a little over 150k on her clock.  I ride her on weekends now, and am giving some thought to looking for a lightwieight sidecar and making a hack, something I've always wanted to do.  Here's a pic of "Blackjack"!

The Junkyard Dawg is progressing and will probably turn into my "hot weather" bike but for right now I'm riding this RT-P...

Daily rider?  The R65 followed by the BSA.  You just can't beat the BMW for reliability.  The BSA continues to "surprise" me.  Right now I am once again arguing with a sinking AMAL fuel float -- a reoccurring problem that AMAL says is not a problem.

Mrs. Phorqs got to swing a leg over one of the RT-P outrider bikes at the BMW Motorrad demo at the national rally.  I'm afraid she fell in love with the whole police bike design.  Don't tell Aida or I may end up buying one of her NC hiway patrol bikes for Theresa's "cold weather" bike. :o

When I messing with one of the R65s, I ride the other R65. I save the little far-eastern scooter for Ace Hardware runs as it's only three blocks away.  Monte

Well, Phorqs, you better go ahead and buy it now as cheap shipping seems to take over a month and you should get it by fall!

My Vstrom 650 is used daily really fantastic machine very fast extremely nimble excellent handling .The 2001 Vulcan 800 classic is my old ride now my wife uses it but not daily. I ride it every now and then if its out of the garage and I'm going to the store I will take it. The R65 will get more use when I get some new tires. I had a 2003 R1200CLC really poor slow speed handling. I had a lot of trouble with this bike which was finally fixed under the warranty. I never should have bought it but its water under the bridge now its in Vermont with a new owner I hope doing well.

Commute bike is an 05 Honda Rebel.  Not fancy, not fast, can barely get out of its own way, but it gets 85+ mpg and is practically bullet proof.

My daily ride is a pushbike - it's only a 5 minute pedal,so no point getting out the R65.I'll take a car if I have to carry something too big.

The R65 is my only roadbike now,and does everything from trips to hooning around gravel roads.

I use my R65 for commuting to work - 48 km per day, and the Kawasaki (Gpz 1100) for longer distances during weekends and holidays.

Negotiations for a third (dirt road) bike is in the pipeline........
