Boy I haven't tuned in for awhile and I gotta say my mouth is hanging open here, catchin' flies!!! Those valves and carb pics from Dirk. Holy Moly!  I thought I had a disagreeable valve! :o

And to see Trolle's bike looking just so stunning! Well, I am in some pretty heady company here to say the least. I will never worry about a specific job again on the bike...the expertise here is fantastic.

So...is it muriatic acid Dirk???? I think a Simple Green soak for 20 years wouldn't get things that clean.  Enquiring minds NEED to know.

Which is about the only thing I haven't tried yet. Nevertheless I found a very good remedy called "Rust and Calcium Remover" and it removes almost everything but the small black flecks on the cooling fins. It is great for cleaning rust and dirt off bolts and nuts and it removes the vax residue on the carbs and gasoline cock very nicely. I do not know what it contains, but muriatic acid is probably one of the ingredients.

Was the legend on the right side of the tail gate golden? It is hard to see on the photo, but if so and the car is mechanically sound I would make an offer between US$ 3,500-5,500.

I take it, that you will pay the transportation costs  ;)

Yes - definately golden... ::)...I know where they were taking it so I might just nip in tonight and liberate it and possibly paint the legend.... (sorry about the quality of the photo - it was on a camera phone and people behind were a honkin' their horns..like I could go faster - there was a bloody great truck in front of me!!)

Now I figure that if a new car tax is 180%, the second hand tax must be in the vicinity of 90%.....and this will then cover the cost of transportation ;D

I can buy it here in Denmark but the risk of getting a car eaten by salt corrosion is very great, which is why many veteran car buyers get their cars from California where it is possible to find a 35 year old car without any rust.

Not that I think that buying a car in Australia and transport it to Denmark will be a economical sound thing to do, so I will look for one in Italy or the southern part of France when that time comes.

I still think that it is one of the finest cars ever made.
