Dirk,
Welcome back!  Beautiful bikes there.  I really like how that striping turned out.  If I ever paint my tank, I'll have to remember how well that turned out.

It's nice to see that Sybille works on the bike too.  SCJohn, don't be so surprised.  Us women can work on bikes too!   And we can multitask!   8-)

The bikes look so nice sitting together.  And I'll bet even nicer when ridden together.  What fun!

I guess Melena that means that women can work on the bike and nag at the same time?  ;)

I'm always reminded by my wife that "Men can only do one thing at a time, women can do 6"

my response is usually, "do you want 6 half finished jobs or one done properly" ;)

Dirk, very nice job on the upgrades.  I'm always amazed how nice a bike can look with a little talent and ambition.  I really like the "Classic" black look of your bikes.

Tell Sybille she's a one-in-a-million, to help with the maintenance like that.

Sicher fahren/reiten.

Beste wunschdenken,

No matter how many things I'm working on at the same time, they all get done properly.   ;)  Unfortunately there isn't enough time to do just one job at a time. :(

Okay, Semper Gumby.  I'll play nicely too.   ;D  I should have known I'd get joked with about that remark.   ::)  I just hope they can take a teasing back.

<Taking his bat and ball and is going home now :-/>

A lot less grief than I thought I'd get - and I deserve it.   :-X

Sue, I asked my wife what trousers she wears. It´s this one.

My wife laughed about Ed Miller´s remark, that after the upgrade of my 80/6  ;D I can keep up with Sybille´s R65.
Normally she rides so slowly, that she duells herself with wheelchair-riders on the road.  ::)

I´ve continued my works on the R100. I found out that the compression on the left cylinder was about 11 bar and on the right only 2 bar. Vesterday I removed the Cylinderhead and found this totally burned out ventile.

Hmmm!
I think it just  will take just some more time until the R100 will be back on the road again.

Dirk

Oh no offence intended in any direction, I guess I forget sometimes the Australian sense of humour leans in a slightly different direction to other English speaking countries. And I suppose across the internet you can't see the wry smirk on my face as I make comments. Trust me I'm always in trouble with my wife, but it's a constant state of affection.

Dirk, that's one of the nastiest looking valves I've ever seen!  :o I'm surprised it hadn't let go and caused you untold grief...  :P

Ditto to what Justin said !  I am AMAZED that valve head didn't drop onto the top of the piston already - you are very fortunate !!!

[smiley=3stooges.gif] Here, Melena, I'll help!! [smiley=chairshot.gif]All in fun, of course!  I wonder if they'd believe that I let an old R25/3 stay in my spare bedroom while it was being restored - better than outside with no cover.  And my hubby asks for my nice small hands all the time.

Dirk, so glad to see your beautiful pictures again.  Very interesting work you've done there.  I agree about that valve!! WOW!  [smiley=shocked.gif]

I gotta say, Dirk, that looking at these pics you have taken of your bike's "insides" is a lot like doing surgery, something I could never do on Britta!  I'd have to turn her over to the "experts", while I wait outside in the lounge and pace back and forth nervously until the "operation" is over with!

GREAT pictures, though!  Keep 'em coming!!!   [smiley=thumbsup.gif]
