Good day for voting (And riding) !
« on: November 04, 2008, 11:41:13 AM »
Too bad that I had to come back and go in the cage to work at one of my client's offices this afternoon.
It is a beautiful sunny, warm (58F is VERY nice for this part of the country at this time of year) day.  I hopped
on my R65LS to do my civic duty and VOTE today (sorry Rob, I didn't write in Ron Paul).  My wife had tried to go @7AM
but the lines were too long as everyone was trying to vote before going to work.  So I waited until 10AM and went right through with no waiting
at all (we live in a fairly small town).  After voting, it was too nice to come straight home, so we explored some freshly paved roads for another 25-30 miles
before coming back to work.   It was NICE !!!    Several guys working at the polling place looked enviously at my helmet and leathers and said, "We should be out riding today, too !"   But, I am grateful that they are doing their part for maintaining democracy and I offered to ride a few more miles for them.
 ;)

Carpe Diem !

We are following your presidential selection with great interest as  the outcome will influence us as well.

I hope that you will select a president who will be able to solve the big problems you are facing.

greetings from a grey, moist and foggy north with abominable driving conditions

Voting in our area has been very heavy during early voting last week.  Two to four hour waits were not uncommon.  My son voted last Tuesday and had to wait over two hours.
My wife and I went a half hour ago and took ten minutes from the time we got out of the car until we returned to it.  Really quick!   Next time the early voters will probably stay home and wait for election day.

69 degrees, clear, and light winds.  Excellent riding weather and my spline lube evolved into ordering a few parts that keep me from going out....     :'(

Went to vote and, S#!%. No photo ID. I Realized the last I saw it was while making a photo copy for my stolen car report [another story]. Went to the photo copy joint and  VIOLA! They had it :). Returned to the polling place and fulfilled my civic duty. Who did I vote for? The winner I hope!

Well !

It appears that we've swept out more than one Republican from DC this time around.    I kinda expected that the Democrats would gain some more seats in congress and senate positions, but it looks like there were some upsets that I wasn't expecting, at least.   Hopefully, Barack and the democrat controlled House and Senate do the things we need them to do and none of the stuff we don't want them to do !

I am feeling optimistic, but I am keeping my fingers crossed.

The Lib Dems have been waiting for this for years so I imagine what WE actually want will be playing second fiddle to their agenda.  But, as Obama said (paraphrased) in a not so very publicized interview, "people shouldn't be too concerned as I won't have time to do everything I'd like..."  Funny how the media chose to ignore most of the scary stuff he's said over the past couple of years.  I would imagine that the likes of Washington, Jefferson, etc. are doing flip-flops in their graves about now.  Let the war on the Bill of Rights begin...  :'(

OK, I'll get off my soapbox and hope for the best...  :-/

It's good to see that the votoing public in the USA have finally reached political maturity - If only the people in this country could follow suit - Instead, we are on high security alert for the execution of the "Bali Bombers"

I didn't realize they had been caught.  Good to see that they'll fry/swing/whatever for what they did...

They were captured within 3 months of blowing up 202 people. Death penalty here by firing squad!

Uh, that war is well under way by now, if you hadn't noticed.   >:(  Not started by Democrats.  They may finish it, I don't know.
