I ordered from a local dealer, Victory BMW in Chandler, AZ, but it was bought up by large company, now known as Ridenow Motorsports, multiple brands, not just BMW .
I have placed three orders from Motobins, for parts no longer available in North America .
I place my order on Sunday afternoon local and usually have it in about 10 days .
If you order parts that are heavy, the shipping costs will be large .

I would also try  contacting Moto-bins
They often have parts listed that are no longer available

I get my parts in 3 days by FedEx from Moto-bins

There is also Motorworks and James Sherlock in England who both sell second-hand parts.Southcoastboxers on e-bay UK may be able to help also.

My answer was from the direct BMW shop in Germany.
When they say it is available, it is. How much is left, is another matter entirely (they may well have only one).
Maybe if you insist, the US dealer will order it for you from Germany ?
Tony, I discussed a while ago with a BMW rep. from Germany and he told me that BMW has "no plan to stop supporting old bikes, and all parts will be available for the foreseeable future".
Alas, the amount of parts disappearing from the official BMW shop is astounding. (for example, the main switch or the handlebar controls or the fuel tank cap...) And this is not due to the maker having disappeared...
I bet that the cost of finding new makers and having a lot made is superior to the "good will" price of the customer base...
Take a look at any of K100/K75 part for example...
