I have one fitted to my custom 1982 R65LS. Overall, it's a pretty good item. Easy to wire in, with good instructions with the item. It was very reasonably priced.
A couple of small things: The RPM read out (graphic, not digital/numerical) was really erratic when I first fitted it, but a few less wraps around the plug lead greatly diminished this issue. It's still not perfect, but is now pretty good. Also, the warning and indicator lights are almost impossible to see in bright daylight. Not really a problem as I've found that if you place the face of the gauge in some shadow using your hand you can read it fine. It really only annoys me when I leave an indicator flashing - I hate doing that! The numerical readout in the centre of the gauge is nice and clear, as is the RPM graphic readout around the edge of the gauge.
One other thing to remember, there is no allowance to hook up your charging warning light to the 2853 model - not sure about the others. You'll need to set this up independently. Don't (as I did) just leave this off because the circuit including the warning light is required to maintain charge to your battery. I learned this the hard way and purchased a universal light and 2w incandescent bulb and all was good.
Cheers
