Usual places to look include amazon.com, ebay, and other
usual places. Plus, BMW manuals can be ordered from BMW
dealers. The BMW shop manuals are very "encyclopedic", and cover
everything about specific models (these factory manuals are model specific,
and are not available for all models of bikes - though there is one for R65, I think),
repair, etc. but are also quite expensive items. You can get the BMW rider/owners manual (that
fits under the seat and covers basic, everyday things) as well as the Haynes and Clymer manuals
from Capital Cycle, also. I don't think that one has to have the factory manual to do maintenance
on the bike, unless perhaps if it comes down to very advanced topics like rebuilding transmisstions or refitting/grinding
crankshafts and con rods.

The Haynes manual has color photos, and covers certain areas better than
the Clymer manual. But the Clymer manual is thicker, covers more models/variations,
and often goes into more details though with black&white pictures. There are some errors
in either manual, so I have one of each to compare with if something just doesn't seem correct.
some may disagree, but if I could only have one, it would be the Clymer.
