Was wondering if anyone on here (possibly one of our aviation inclined members) knows if dzus fasteners are robust enough to use in mounting some Krauser bag frames?
I have seen them used in a lot of racing and aircraft applications but not necessarily what I would consider a load bearing function. The ones I have and was considering using are very stout, approx 1/2" in diameter in stainless.
My r65 is pretty well streamlined and the rear subframe has been modified enough that most of the normal mounting points are no longer there. I don't want to keep the hard bag frames mounted but there are times it would be nice to use the bags. I don't want to be bolting and unbolting ever time I want to use them and think I would use them more if I could "quick release" them.
I was planning on welding on some tabs in strategic places and using the dzus fasteners to accomplish the quick release of the frames. Any comments or suggestions?
