Ladies and gents,
It is with deep sorrow that i must come forth and tell all of you...i don't belong here anymore as i no longer own an R65....well...not REALLY. I just finished putting a '74 R90/6 engine and transmission into my '65 frame

it's not running yet but i'm working on it haha.
SO my problem is takin all the parts i want from my old engine and putting onto the 900. first issue is the alternator and since the 650 is already out of the frame, theres no way i can stop the motor from turning when i try to remove that center bolt. removing the alternator from the 900 way easy cuz it i had already put it in the bike and i'm not swapping them again, any suggestions?
second problem is taking off the starter but once i get the alt and front cover off, that wont be hard.
then there's the points. from what I hear over on boxerworks, i can wire it up to my current coil, just wondering if there's anymore knowledge or experience on that here.
and that's about it. a little info on how i came to own this gem, from what i heard it was in a bike that got pinned inbetween 2 trucks so everything was ruined except the engine and tranny. the headers were bent at the crossover so i had it cut out and welded back up so i have 2 separate pipes but the left side got creased into the port so it fits but it sits a bit higher than the other side and i may have issues with it hitting the shifter which is a BMW heel-toe

never used one of those before muahahaha. so when its all said and done, hopefully i'll be running a '74 900cc engine in my short R65 frame with '83 electrics. and i'll still be using those foot long emgo pipes too
