Yeah, if you ain't cursing something it is obvious you're doing something wrong!

The fact that I needed to use a looong extension (20'") and a 13 mm socket down from the top of the fork tube to enable tightening of the big bottom bolt had me going for a long time...I cried  [smiley=cry.gif]as i thought I had stripped the bolt.  Anyway, another tip...duct tape the 13mm socket onto the loooong extension just in case!!! [smiley=steinigung.gif].

Sue, that's where you screwed up.   Cursing works far better than crying, IMHO.  

I thought the same thing.  One side tightened right up to the correct torque with no problems, the other got to around 15 lb/ft and started "turning", which also buggered up the cheapo aluminum crush washer.    That made me glad that I always order 10 of any crush/sealing washer I need.  I was kinda pi$$ed at having to take the spring and stuff back out but not as much as if I had stripped something!
