Update:
Well its been a while since I was last on here but due to change in job Im no longer able to get on the pc as much

However, I have been able to crack on with my R65 and after disappointment in my last post I can proudly proclaim that the heads have been away and returned with new hardened exhaust seats and brand new valve guides too

I had to send them away to a company who specialises in bike engines, S.E.P. Kegworth in Derbyshire. They did a first rate job too although it took them a few weeks to get them done due to the amount of work they get in. They also bedded in the inlets in too and built the heads up (springs and collets) so all i had to do was put them on the barrels.
Just prior to getting the heads back I sent the wheels off too for attention. They were looking tired so they were sent to a local firm (J. Wilkinson's of Shavington) who shot-blasted and power-coated them silver. They then had the bearings re-installed and they look fantastic.
next job is the removal of the gearbox and engine from the frame, all being well that should be next sunday (6th july).
