If it was me, I'd go used. You arent really getting anything more or less with a used push rod as long as its straight.

You need to look for the cause. Stuck valve.

And I am pretty sure I have a box full of them around here somewhere.  Yours for shipping.  I can send you more than one in case there is a problem!

If you ever have the jugs pulled away from the block for any reason, it is always a good idea to reach in with a magnet-on-a-stick and pull out the cam followers to make sure they are in good shape.  I believe is is only a Type 247 issue (R65s are Type 248 engines), but you want to know.

Tell me more Rob! Since I've still got the jug off for my valve replacement, I'm getting pretty bored.  Is there anything else (grease) necessary for reinstall of the follower?

Nope - just drop them back in there (you may need to push them in with your finger).
If you want to get really anal about it, you could put some oil on the bottom where it contacts the cam lobe, and the top, where it pushes the push rod, but I don't think that is necessary.

hey sorry for the late reply. i think it was when my valve seat came loose and bent the valve and valve sleeve. i think it just bent a little so i didnt notice and over the time until it needed a valve adjustment i noticed it was bent.
