Well, damnit, I can't figure out how to "rearrange" the photos in the album for the rally to make any sense, so I guess I'll just have to give you what I hope is the link to the album so it can be viewed. I'm sorry it's not like I wanted it to be!

The rally (from my point of view) was great, as I said earlier. Now, PM and I didn't camp out there, so I can't comment on how good the shower facilities were. There appeared to be plenty of restrooms (well, port-a-potties) on the grounds that were regularly serviced. There was a food/drink tent and beer booth right smack dab in the middle of the vendor area (with inflated prices, to no one's surprise) and a large tent for the music concerts that were offered each evening. Hell, there was even a tent that sold "premium cigars"!
The rally was held in one of the many expansive cow pastures a few miles away from the Biltmore House itself. The area where the tent camping was located was pretty flat and mostly devoid of trees, and fairly dusty. A truck sprinkling water on the road made rounds on a regular basis to keep the level of dust down. (There was a second campsite about a half mile away from the main campsite and located beside a river, which was designated the "quiet" campground, in the midst of many trees and grass. That's where I would have camped if we had opted to rough it")
Plenty of vendors as well, selling damn near everything under the sun for the bike or rider. I bought a couple of small reflective "Moto-Man" stickers to put on the back of my luggage on Britta.
I enjoyed checking out the various sites occupied by clubs, with their banners flying for all to see where they hailed from. I saw BMW clubs from Cleveland, Minneapolis, Tampa, New York, Kansas City and Denver, to name a few. Saw lots and lots of
really cool club T-shirts, too! (BTW, our club finally got in our new T-shirts just before the rally. I'll try to post a couple of pics of them, if anyone is interested.)
I'd have to say the most common Beemer at the rally would have to be the R1200GS. Seemed like about every other bike I saw parked or rumbling by was one of them! Also lots of the R1150RTs and the newer '06 and '07 models as well. I only saw one LS, a silver one. (I'm guessing Sue had to be there, but just didn't see it.)
I didn't do any riding the area roads while at the rally. I wanted to hang with Pattimarie, since it was her first rally. She was intent on taking a tour of the Biltmore Estate Winery, which we did Saturday afternoon. It was really interesting, too! We got to sample several of the wines produced there as well, and even found a wine that I would drink! (I'm basically a beer man, myself.) We bought a bottle of their "American Reisling" to enjoy after we got back home.
The Vintage tent had several nice Beemers, though I didn't see any bike older than 1950. My favorite was a 1966 R27 single. I think if I ever find myself in a position to "acquire" a vintage BMW, this would be it! Riding around on a 250cc single would have to be a hoot!!

Well, that's all I can think of for now. Here's the link that I hope will take you to the photos:
