Be sure to secure those side covers prior to your first ride. Red zip ties would be almost invisible.
Thank You for reminder about the side covers, I would not be a happy camper if they became road kill :'( D2

Adrian it is good to hear from you. I have been painting the directionals, taillight and the handle bar controls this weekend and they are coming out with a nice consistent finish, like the rest of the parts. Take care, D2

Hey dave - I hadn't considerd all those objects so if possible could you post some piks sometime so I can see the finish and how they look - I'm still faffing about slowly with the last of the black spraying on actual parts and caustic soad soakin ght eexhaust system so very slow going at the moment hence no more fotos from me for some time. - still so much to do but I'm getting there slowly - spraying the p[lastics seems lieka really great idea to get them shiny again as the vinyl cleaning liquids are good but not that good . I hope you get back on the road soon mate - Adrian ........ ;)

I'm finally getting around to posting some new pics of my recently named 1983 R65LS, Greta. There is an amazing feeling when it starts really coming together. I still have a ways to go but I'm happy with how she is turning out. Thanks again for the great support and knowledge of this assorted bunch of airheads. D2

Dave,

Bike looks fantastic.
Did you have the engine cleaned and painted or did you do it?

Thanks

That was all elbow grease with simple green, aluminum wheel cleaner with acid to provide some etching/cleaning, and then the cylinders, heads and covers I bead blasted. I finished with "Never Dull" D2
