There's a joint in Justin, Texas, not far from the Texas Motor Speedway. Goes by the name of
Lonesome Spur Cafe & Mule Barn Sports Bar.
Pretty Wife and I enjoy their Friday Catfish Specials so as it was Friday, I laid out an hour's worth of wandering roads that would eventually get us to the Spur. We call it, "going the Cowboy Way".
Cowboy Way got us to the western edge of Denton County where our paved roads turned into a crushed white stone "all weather" road... as they're know 'round here. Churning up miles of white dust that settled over the bike and us.
Neither the Triumph Trophy, the Metzler LaserTech tires nor my bride liked the rather squirrely handling; especially the 90-degree turns where Texas Cowboy Cadillacs, aka: pick'em up trucks, had pushed the gravel into curving and wobbly berms.
We survived the ride and enjoyed a huge plate of freshly fried catfish filets with all the trimmings. Dee-licious, they were. Always a good meal at the Spur. We did cruise home on smoother tracks.
The bike is nasty and needs a good bath. I'm resisting the urge to slap an ADV sticker on the bags.
