With Clarkson gone, I may actually return to watching the program; although it's always been, IMO, a rather lame show. Definitely not as well done as something like our now thankfully dead and gone reality series, "Here Comes Honey Boo-Boo". Gag me with a spoon.

It's not just Clarkson that's gone but James May and Richard Hammond as well, The Producer that created the new format of the show with Clarkson in the first place has also gone. Top Gear no longer exists except in name. It remains to be seen if the new version they happen to call Top Gear is even a fraction as good. I think they will have to create something with a new theme because trying to copy the old one is never going to work.

The show wasn't really just about cars and anyone looking for information about cars was missing the point. It was about blokes and how they never grow up. Most of us oldies still riding motorbikes should relate to that.

I would not be surprised to find that if the Post Clarkson reincarnation of Top Gear flopped, the BBC swept the 'steak gate' incident under the carpet and brought them all back.

I find TM a little too much after a while, but undoubtably he is more than qualified, same with Jodi Kidd.

Interesting twist if Philip gets the third role as he could be the glue that holds the other two together, a great actor and personality, ideally suited and possibly the genius move (IMO).

Isn't Clarkson and co supposed to be working on a new show?

I will have better things to watch than a "new" Top Gear.

I initially like the show the first couple seasons, but it had already reached the point of avoidance on my channel changing pattern.   I don't think that I'll give the rebooted version a try
