My '82 has dual ATE calipers fitted (from new). When the bike was actually built I can't remember but it was first on the road in August 1982.

My 1982 LS has ATE's s/n 6370603.

Came from the factory with them.

I just acquirred the bike, but have known the bike since it was delivered in May, 1982.

I recall reading somewhere that Brembos constituted one of the "enhancements" of the LS when it was introduced.

Just to add to the confusion or understanding, my '82 non-LS, manufactured in October '81 has a Brembo caliper.
