First 110 F Day Of 2013
« on: June 01, 2013, 07:12:43 PM »
Got to 110 F, 43 C, at 1710 this afternoon .

Seems like it's getting hotter earlier !!!!

First year I lived in this home (1994), I didn't turn the air conditioning on until the second week of June, it's been on since the last week of April this year .

Riding all year long since 1993 .
I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

That is the same thing they tried to tell me when I lived in Oklahoma for a year (before escaping from Uncle Sam's clutches), "It's a dry heat!" When I started leaving footprints in the asphalt walking to my car I knew it was time to leave.

You would probably think it's a cold front Bob but when it gets to 100* here at least I have an ocean to jump in.   [smiley=drowning.gif]
Keep your bike in good repair: motorcycle boots are not comfortable for walking.

Just think of the money you could save! Just put dinner in a pan and set it outside for a while. Electric savings might offset the non-stop a/c bill.  ;D

I thought you guys had swamp coolers (evaporative coolers) in the southwest?

I managed my first 5 consecutive day commute on the CBR250R last week!  Today is day 6. :)
I put the mesh jacket on for the first time today.

Well, we just moved to Prescott, from SoCal.  It is way cooler up at a mile high, let me tell you.

118 F (48 C) is forecast for the middle of next week .

All of the BMW's require premium grade of fuel this time of year .

But, surprisingly, the Guzzi is the least finicky for premium fuel of the bikes in hot weather !!!

Running the last of regular fuel out of it this weekend, no detonation with it, unless you try to accelerate in too high of a gear for the speed .

It's 'happier' in the higher rpm range .

Most of the newer construction homes here ( last 20 years), don't come with 'swamp coolers', or evaporative cooling .

Not real conducive to adding it to the home, without significant modifications .
