Hi Guys,

Well on Friday I removed the beancan from the bike, opened the little port and checked out the weights.  Now I have nothing to compare with having never seen them before, but they appeared pretty clean, opened with little force and flicked back fairly well when I let them go. The springs looked pretty good too. Added some light oil to the pivots, cleaned up the case and refitted the bean can.  Timing appears OK, so I am borrowing a timing light tomorrow. The bike idled fine and rode like before.

No real clear indication of slow rev loss but it was quite a short ride.  I will give a full update of my progress after tomorrow's longer ride.

Once again thanks for all the advice.

Best to all,
Paul

Hi All,

Just wanted to let you all know the slow loss of revs problem is fixed. I took the bike to a good bike mechanic, he told mew the fault was not unknown to him.  He replaced a leaking inlet manifold and overhauled the carbs and retuned the bike.  The bike now idles well and I have engine braking now.

Mind you when I picked it up my gear changes were  really rough since the revs dropped away as they are supposed to on each change.

Just thought I would let you all know the outcome in case the same thing happens to another R65 newbie like me.

Take care,
Paul
