But it's a dry heat !!!! :D :D :D

I've invented a new temperature/wind comfort index for the desert regions, I call it the 'Blast Furnace Index', or BFI .

Was considering the 'Beef Jerky Index', or how long it takes a motorcyclist to turn to 'people jerky' .

It was 114 F. today and 30 mph winds, that works out to a BFI of 165 F !!!!! 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-) 8-)

I doubt it, but it will give sliding tarmac a run for it's money!
Ballistic padding, too!

Is that because once the temperature exceeds body temperature 98 F the faster you go the hotter you get instead of the other way around.

Not a phenomenon we are likely to experience in the UK.

Yes in the UK we only get to experience wind chill Lou.
I don't mind though as once the temperature gets to 20 C that's plenty warm enough for me. I'm even riding without a neck tube these days.

In the sourthern states and I guess parts of Australia the guys will know all about the reverse effect. It's simple heat transfer so once the air temperature rises above 37 C (98 F) the faster the air flow the faster heat is transferred to your body. Doesn't sound nice to me.

My first summer in Phoenix, 1994, I was working afternoon shift, 1430-2300, a 117 F. day and 35 mph winds .

I felt I was being hit with 'jetblast'  the exhaust from a turbine engine, looked around the tarmac around the passenger terminal, there were no aircraft in the vicinity, it was just 'environmental jetblast' !!! :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

The cooling system failed today and I'm afraid it will overheat on the way home.  No rain.

It's a mere 105 degrees here in Central Missouri.  But it'll cool down by October, I'm sure.
