Boyles Law and Charles Law were drilled into me when i was learning how not to maintain Marine Boilers...
Boyles Law describes the relationship between Pressure and volume
( P V = C) assuming no change in temperature
Charles Law describes the relationship between volume and temperature
( V1 T2=V2 T1) assuming no change in pressure
These formula have been around for eons and easy to remember
the worst one i had to do was in Naval Architecture working out the displacement volume of a ship, bear in mind this was before the days of calculators and a mans best friend was his slide rule and his log book(can't spell logarithms).
Calculating the Metacentric height and using the Moorsom system were formulas designed to make students heads explode...
