Credit Cards
« on: May 24, 2010, 01:01:02 PM »
Just got a letter in the mail today from my credit card issuer, CitiBank .

The bank is revising the types of purchases that are eligible for a cash back dividend .

Looks like none of my usual credit card transactions are going to be eligible after July 1 .

I guess I'm in the new 'deadbeat' classification, I pay the entire amount due every month,  use the card on the usual everyday purchases that you need to live .

I've gotten about $6000US back from them in the last 14 years, never paid any interest or other service charges .

Looks like they don't like being taken advantage of !!! [smiley=ROTFLMAO.gif]

I'll give up my R65, when they pry my cold dead hands from the handlebars !!!!!

The banks are trying to not do anything for their customers at all anymore.  Glad that you got that while you could.    ;D   You actually got money back?   :-?  I never get anything back.

Use it mainly for gas and hotels when traveling.  And I pay it off every month.  I didn't pay it off a couple of times and couldn't believe how much I had to pay extra by just paying it off in 2 months instead of all the first month.   :o  I'll never do that again.   >:(

Dang, Bob.  I guess I'll get the same letter any day.

Oh well, my Costco American Express pays back 3% for gas, which is more than my Citi card did anyway.  If I get that letter I'll just cancel my Citi card.

Go with the Costco AmEx card.  While it's about $50/year there's never been a year I haven't gotten several hundred back.  I hardly ever shop at Costco but it seems like a pretty good deal to me.  Of course when I do go to Costco I don't have to buy a lunch because all of the old ladies there are passing out free samples.  That's better than donuts at a funeral home! ;D
