A coup!

Last week I met a guy who was admiring the WH8LA2, which of course is very nice  :)

He told me that he had some spare parts lying around for which he had no use as he had sold his r65 GS. I was of course interested and went to his place a couple of days later to see the items.

Two new and unused carburettors (right side) still in their cases, one used Valeo starter and some odd bits.

Price? DKK 700.00~$120

So now there will soon be a used Bosch starter, a used but newly renovated right side carburettor and a new right side carburettor with and old cap and a used, but fairly new float on the market.

greetings from a warm, at last, and sunny north

Sounds like you got a great deal!  Can the Bosch starter be rebuilt?

Say, is it true that if you stand on a soapbox, you can see Flensburg?  That's what my friends in Kobenhavn say.  I want to go back to Denmark and buy a Nimbus.  I was amazed at how many I saw running around.

Deal and yes the Bosch can be rebuilt.  There is a place north of Atlanta that is quite reasonable.  Ten years ago when he rebuilt my starter I was shock to see the bill was only $40.  But that was a long time ago...

If the Valeo is in working order I will exchange the Bosch with the Valeo, and there will be a Bosch (bought renovated in 2006 for $200) on the market.

I mounted the new left  carb and rebuilt the old right carb with as much as possible from the other new left carb, so now I have two new carbs on the WH8LA2. They are from 1991 with other jets and vacuum spring which makes for a much more regular running and a bit more power. I am running them in at the moment so more follows. ;D

greetings from a sunny, calm and warm north
