Governmental officials in California, New Mexico and Texas have spoken out against this pending Arizona law .

They are concerned, that more illegal aliens will be coming to the other Mexican border states and stay away from Arizona, with the tougher illegal immigrant law set to become enforceable in Arizona around July or August this year .

Nature abhors a vacuum, and states are within their rights to fill the lack of effective action by the federal government.   How much left of the "great wall" that G Bush II authorized billions to spend remains to be constructed - 90%?   I'm not saying that was an ideal solution either, but it was finally pushed through after great resistance, and it seems that hardly any of it has been made.

I gotta wonder about some of the "stats" they've "collected"... $7.35M per DAY by only 65,000 visitors from Mexico?   That's $113 per person per day - seems quite high to me as there are ~ 50,000 people from New Hampshire who travel to work in Massachusetts each day and THEY don't average anywhere near spending $113 per day in MA, and they have jobs in MA that pay over $75K/year.

One of our main political parties (Libs) are campaigning on the issue of giving illegal immigrants amnesty if thieve been here more than 10 years,I believe this approach has been tried in the states....i hope one calls on me ill tell them what i think
ie, someone who has been working not paying tax for 10 years should be in jail then deported.
If i dont file an income tax return by the due date i get fined.
If i dont pay Council tax i go to Jail.
Wheres the justice in that.

Lou, it rewards them for successfully breaking your laws for a long enough period of time.  It works, if by works, you mean it encourages others to do the same.

At least one paper knows the difference between an "assault weapon" and a semiautomatic rifle:

"Babeu said up to 30 rounds were fired at the deputy, who returned fire with an AR-15 semiautomatic rifle and a handgun."
