When I was working in Yemen back around the turn of the century we had several kidnapping events.  I recall the time that a Dutchman was kidnapped and the tribe that snatched him just could not get anyone to pay his ransom at all.  After keeping him for about 4 or 5 months they swapped him to a tribe near the capital of Sana'a for cash and a hostage to be named later.

Is anyone interested in a Husky 410 dirt bike?

Oh no, I don't want anyone kidnapped, but I sure wish some of these greedy farking bastidges in Washington DC would stay out of our pockets and quit messing with our freedoms.  I wouldn't swap the US Constitution or our Bill of Rights for anything!

I did swap my first bike ever, a 100cc Kawasaki Trail Boss with a ten speed transmission for a 350cc Jawa with a pretty cool sidecar.  Turned out to be a really bad swap but I was able to sell it to an Air Force officer after he messed it up on the test ride.  He ran into the only light pole on the parking lot, turned to me and said "well, I guess I bought it, didn't I?"  Being the proper enlisted man that I was I replied, "Sir, yes sir!"   ;D

With a little help from me, my wife has just swapped a Ford Ranger pickup for a BMW 318i. Sure is nice to drive something that doesnt rattle so much!

Welcome "home", Collin!

I'v been wondering about you, for the last few days, as you've been AWOL from the asylum. Hope it's "just business' that has kept you away.

Glad to have you back with us.

Monte - It is good to be back! and it's not only work keeping me away.
I've just "found" an 81 LS for a new buddy here (he will, no doubt, be joining this happy band of brothers soon)
I'm also restoring a R25/3, trying to train an Englishman to make Biltong and workwise, just being a sinister suit - Oh, I nearly forgot - got the wife a 318i (one of those 4 wheel things) so now we have 6 wheels in the family und zey all haf ze liddle roundel from Munchen on zem.
And I will be posting more often!

You are exactly right Lou. The biggest price was not having to eat endangered species any more!

Haven't done that much swapping,,. Biggest exception would be my Vespa P200, which I got in trade for a very early model Honda Civic in fair condition.  Still have the Vespa and hope to refurbish it soon-- and I'm sure it's held its value better than the Civic has.  Note to Ed Miller: I would be a sucker for an accordion trade, but I already have two accordions...

The Pogues are my favorite accordian band.  OK, they're a band that uses an accordian.  Irish punk/rock/drunk/violence music.
