Great Train Robbery

I posted a while back that i had been asked to rob some steam trains on the North Yorkshire Railway for charity here are some piccy,s of the event

You would probably love to attend some of the cowboy action competition meets over here.   We also have some 'mountain man" competitions wherein you must shoot at targets with a blackpowder, muzzleloading rifle, throw knives and tomahawks at targets, build a fire with flint and sticks and play poker.   Ties are broken at the end by shooting at a lemon (or egg) at 100 and then 200 yards.

Being in Britain, are those six shooters real and just firing blanks, or are they blanks-only, like starter pistols?

The gun laws here are crazy we are using colt peacemakers and remmington new army specialy made for blanks with multipul baffles the rifles and shotguns however are real with blanks its legal to own a pre 1873 pistol(cap and ball) with a firearms certificate.The guns that the criminals use are not single action like ours and can be bought for about a 100 bucks where as a blank firer of the type we have to use will set you back about a grand. I am involved with the cowboy action shooting society and do fastdraw ect ect.
all good clean fun when your not on the bike we also do the tie break with an egg at 100 yards thats when the sharps 45/90 comes in handy. Ive been invited to some events in Texas but the big issue is getting our guns back into the UK its not worth the risk so if we did it we would have to borrow all the gear(they have offered to loan us that) the gun club im in is toying with the idea but im not holding my breath.

In true wild west tradition the robbery started well but ended in a bloodbath when the cavalry turned up

Gotta say you fellas look like real, honest to goodness Texicans. The hats do it for me.

Question, Lou. Is the American Old West a popular "draw" in England? I've met American Yankees who truly believed we Texans all still ride horses and keep a hog leg strapped on. Dumb clucks... These days a hog is too hard to conceal.

Despite supresion by the anti gun mob there is a big following im part of the Lonestar reenactment group which has about 120 members we do shows throughout the summer the biggest of which is the Western Motor Home show at Great Malvern Showground with an potential audience of 1000,s i was told last year there were more than 60,000 at the event its huge heres a couple of links to the train robbery pictures there are loads and the Lonestar website we pay for our own gear and try to keep everything as authentic as possible

Were on at the Royal Armouries in leeds this weekend ill post a couple of piccys of that one.....i think im on the chuck wagon little mary springs to mind!!
