Ouch!

Ya know - he just must be thanking his lucky stars that he 'suited' up that morning. Can you imagine the injuries he would have sustained if he hadn't?

I think this cornering technique is inspired by Johnny Walker.............

Bad cornering technique indeed! However, I see in the first pic that the bike was already throwing sparks - by the second pic the front wheel was on the centerline and headed across, and I don't see a guard rail beyond - I think he bailed out rather than trying to fly. Considering how he was dressed and helmeted it could have been his first good decision of hte day. YMMV.

Indeed !

I like bikes that can lean over a few more degrees before grinding, myself.

I've seen a similar situation on video - the bike started tankslapping in the middle of the turn and after trying to control the slapping, which the he should not have done, according to the instructor showing the video, the rider chose to dismount.

As the bike was a Harley too and the rider was dressed the same, I will draw the very scientific conclusion, that this way of riding is a particular Harley rider way.

I should talk having tried the same thing my self, but I chose to stay on the bike waiting to dismount until the speed was agreeable for dismounting. On the other hand if there is a fall at the left side of the road, this, as Drewboid states: could have been his first good decision of hte day

Now you boys are all being too hard on that guy.  If you look really closely you can see that he has on proper footwear.

I'm convinced that it is some sort of initiating rite as you have to be tatooed to be a real Harley rider.

Maybe ritual scars are the new tattoos, as tattoos are so common now.
