Let's pray for our Brit cousins...
« on: March 24, 2009, 11:42:31 AM »
I just read a "news crawl" stating that some goober by the name of Jonathon Porritt (one of the PMs top environmental advisers) claims that in order for GB to "sustain a viable society" the population of the country will need to be cut in half!  He also hinted that the US also needed to do the same.

How will this  be accomplished?  Will there be a lottery and the "loosers" have to report to the disintegration chambers?  Hmmm, an old sci-fi plot I seem to remember comes to mind. I suppose it would make sense for them to get rid of us old goobers first and then they could pocket the healthcare savings...

Where do these boneheads come up with all of this crap?  If this is the product of todays modern educational system I'm thankful for being an illiterate slob.!!!

Maybe they should just be patient. There have been articles in past news regarding the middle class fleeing Jolly Old and emigrating to Australia, New Zealand, Canada and even to the 13 Colonies. Fed up.

We've got the space to grow. Ever fly cross country heading s'west or nor'west? Water is all you need to create new living space. Wait one... didn't they just do that in the now foreclosed burbs of Las Vegas?

Apologies to our British R65ers, but the socialistic direction held by the British government might just be part and parcel of their problems.

except for all the others that have been tried."

I think we have too many people here in the U.S.  It's the main reason I oppose illegal immigration.

Unfortunately we now have an administration that would like us to be "more like Europe" so it might not be a good idea for folks to run over here for relief.  I also read that a lot of illegals were going home because of economic conditions here.  Maybe there is a silver lining...

If we prevented 'stupid brain dead  people' from reproducing, we could accomplish a task like this in one or two generations.

Let natural selection (stupid animals die first) work the way it's supposed to, and the 'gene pool' will be cleansed in no time !!

I am sure that if such political kooks gain any notoriety, it will be a flash in the pan and they will (hopefully) be revealed for the utter nut cases that they are.   But, if Britain is serious about this, all they need to do is adopt the one child policy like China did and enforce if for a couple generations -> population growth will stop, but not reverse.   Then they can revoke their social health care system and adopt a system like we presently have, and then there will be a decline.

Sad.

I have thought for quite some time now that retrospective abortion should be legalised.... :o

Having said that though - I'm keeping right away from any immigration debate. Australia's efforts in this regard is appalling. One of the first laws that Australia passed when we became a self governing nation in 1901 was the Immigration Restriction Act of 1901. It was also called the White Australia Policy.

It meant that the Govt could test any immigrant in a Eurpean language of the Govt's choice. If you were English you were tested in English. If you happened to be Italian or another non-northern European/Asian 'undesirable' you could be tested in any language...ie Latvian.

It was finally repealed in 1973 (+/-2).

It is to Australia's ever-lasting shame that we refused entry to many  German-Jews in 1935-39. I may point out that we were not the only country to do this.

We also have the issue of the so-called boat people....

Speaking from experience, DIMIA (Australian Immigration) is still atrocious. I won't go there either.  [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

Amazing, I have never heard of this article.

However many Eastern Europeans are returning home from Blighty as the building work has dried up, and the drop in value of the £ has meant that this is no longer the place to be.

I have absolutely no problem with anyone coming into Blighty as long as they learn the language and have a skill that is marketable.  What we do not need is a load of illiterate, non-English speaking, un-employable layabouts.

The UK is already full of non-employable layabouts - home grown.

The we should adopt the social policy of say India.  If you do not have a job - you starve.

That would make far more housing available to those that want to work and pay thier own way.

Contentious?

Two incedents up north that give concern this week....the asian post master from Nottingham who was sacked because he refused to serve people who wouldnt speak english in his shop even though this was tying up the post office because ot the time it took to to translate everything.
And the young father who could not register his son at the local sheffield doctors because the staff were refuseing new patients on the grounds that they were to tied up dealing with translation for existing patients.........the worlds gone mad

The science fiction some of you may be remembering might be Soylent Green.

This is the story I remember, from 2006:

Reminds me of an episode in one of the Star Trek series television programs,  a planet had the law that when you reached your 50th birthday, you were 'terminated' .
