The stock mirror supports on my 1983 R65 rusted badly after LA to San Francisco Route 1 ride.  The mirrors are clear and rust free.  Can the supports be swapped out if I can find non rusted examples or must I get supports and mirrors as a unit?

I also left you an ebaylisting for a pair that might werk. Could be a good time to try out some Bar End mirrors.

Just mask off the mirror and sand and repaint the stalk with a satin/semi-gloss black.

That is exactly what I am about to do with those off my R100.  Satin black.

I have a bar end mirror on my R65 Cafe Racer, as it goes with the territory.
