First post: '79 R65 pics

This is a pic from my first day with my '79 R65 after 13 years under a tarp. It's a bit corroded, but I got it running that day. I think I've finally gotten the idle sorted out by cleaning and lubing the timing advance mechanism. I think I'm just going to go for mechanical soundness on this one. I've been swiping a battery from my wife's quad to run it, but I may go ahead and get my own since it's running well. Next, it's fork seals and shocks, I think. I have a Velorex sidecar on a Suzuki GS1100GK that I think about trying on this, but I haven't decided to move on that yet.

And here I was thinking new member Steve had figured out a new n' unique storage system for his R65. Just hang 'em from the ceiling, boys!

Believe Steve's gonna fit in just fine with our ambling herd. Us inmates like photos. Just as long as they don't confuse us. Too much.

Welcome aboard!   These bikes respond well to some TLC, and folks will certainly notice you (and in a more kindly fashion) than if you were riding a loud blarting cruiser
