Saying hello
« on: September 25, 2015, 05:13:31 AM »
Saying howdy, thought it the right thing to do. Retired, located in the upper Pioneer Valley of western Mass, for the time being anyway, but  lived/worked many places on the job, 30 years engineer corps.

Mainly keep occupied with restoring vintage bicycles, the pedal variety, build some motorized bicycles too. The most complicated thing I turn a wrench on is a '79 R65, and believe me that is a handful for my addled brain, and so my interest here.

Clear skies and tailwinds.

Welcome to the R65 family, JD.

Nicely fitted '79 you have. Lot of folks feel that the "round" air cleaner assembly is much more attractive than the later "box" style.

Any service concerns, just sing out. Most of us have made enough mistakes n' goofs to qualify as Service Interventionists. Know I've "stepped in it" often enough over the years.

Hi JD from Georgia.  Just back from camping at TWOs.  You know with a set of Heidenau's you could ride all winter long!  Good luck.

PS before you do anything with the clutch or the transmission splines, ask here first for instructions.  It will save you beaucoups dollarous.. 8-)

Regards,

SG
