Member's rides/bikes

It occurred to me while admiring Dave Schille's R65 in chit chat that we do not have a 'members bikes' area to show off our chosen steads. Unless of course it is hidden away in the photo gallery area of the forum?
Would this not be a good resource for new and old members to view primarily the R65 in all it's glory, but other airheads and even other Makes of bike owned by the members of this forum.
We could have one area for the standard bikes including those with the commonly accepted bolt on accessories fitted.
Another for custom jobs, be it R65 cafe racers, rat and race bikes etc
A third for other airheads.
And a fourth for other makes.
This of course would not be a discussion area just a selection of pictures with the main points about the bikes attributes and history
Just a thought :-?

How and why would you want to prevent members from commenting? Feedback can be helpful, IMO.

The idea would be a selection of photos with the main features of the bike or bike/owner! It may be an opportunity to put a name to a bike/owner?
Anyway if there was a long drawn out discussion on each entry then the area may become unmanageable but that does not mean that a member could not open a separate thread to discuss a particular feature or accessory with it's owner or other knowledgeable folk on the forum in chit chat, or even pm the owner.
But I am open to better ways of doing things of course, just a little suggestion from a newby :-[ [smiley=bmw_smiley.gif]

I always thought that was what the "Gallery" was requested for.  All you have to do is request a login and everybody has their own area which is accessible only to forum members so the spam in the remarks issues of the past should no longer exist.

You could certainly start a "bike pics only please" thread - they have such on several other forums I visit.   Sometimes there is a little banter in between pics, but generally it isn't too much.   Or we could just ask people to self limit posting other than pics of their bike or descriptions, thereof.

I'd put it in the "Chit-chat" section as it will likely include bikes other than just BMW airheads (or you can just request only BMW if you like)..

Go ahead and give it a try, and some of us will follow suit..
Airhead #12178 ? BMWMOA #123173 ?BMWRA #33525 ?GSBMWR #563 ?1982 BMW R65LS ?1978 BMW R100/7 1998 Kawasaki Concours
