I have set the forum controls to "shrink" all huge pictures/images to a max of 1024 x 768 when displaying in the forum.  With Firefox I will get the original huge pic if I click on it...

I think it is working pretty well - it shows as well within the forum message frame when I let it autoload (don't click on it) with Firefox v21 ...

Good job, Justin - I think this should make things easier for us!  Especially Bob....
