Hi

Just joined here and saying hello.

Pic of me and my new R65.....

First time with a Beemer but have owned and ridden A Pan Euro, SV1000, Fazer 600, Bandit 600.

Mine is a 1980 R65.  Running, complete and original but in need of some tlc.  Hope there are no horrors lurking....

Looking forward to getting to know some of you and your bikes and challenges and solutions.

Welcome John

Bike looks very tidy. Silver beige ? - same colour as mine.

No criticism intended as you might like them like that but the silencers look they they have been swapped side to side. The one on the left should have a large depressed area underneath to facilitate removal of the wheel spindle.

Welcome to all things R65, John.

That's a very clean looking and unmolested R65 you have. Nice score. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

Hello - good to see an Irishman here! Your bike looks just like mine (a 79) apart from the colour.

Looks to me like a what is normally referred to as a post 81 model.  Plastic airbox, handlebar mounted choke, dome top carbs, etc.  We are in that 1980 swap-over period.

Unusual to see a single disk this side of the pond.  Not that that is an issue as long as it is working.

Does look like the exhausts have been swapped though.

A nice clean bike all in all.
