A Good Man in Afghanistan dies

SSG Robert Bales, presently confined in Fort Leavenworth and charged with 17 counts of murder, has, unfortunately, been the face of the USArmy for the past several weeks.

SGT Dennis Weichel, a member of my son's 143rd Airborne Infantry Battalion presently serving in Afghanistan, dies saving the life of a young Afghan girl. His heroic effort garnered perhaps 30 seconds of media time.

This is such a sad story my heart goes out to the mans family, When push comes to shove we leave behind us a legacy, to be remembered for a selfless act doing a difficult job regardless of personal safety and politics cannot be a bad thing......Pat Tillman springs to mind
Politicians of all persuasions should take note of the sacrifices made by those who put others above them selves.
