Infrastructure Upgrade Tonight

I'll be kicking off the disruptive part of the infrastructure upgrade tonight around midnight, and this change will result in temporary inaccessibility of the website.

Most people should be able to access the site by morning, but it is possible that some people may not be able to access the site for a couple of days as changes make their way through the internet.

I'm getting a strange website "look". All white background, no images, an "antique" kinda website deal. I'm off for awhile until this, perhaps, cleans up. Yuck, I sure hope this ain't the new forum...

I could not get on the forum around noonish EST and got some strange website but now 2:45EST everything seems normal. D2

Well, no one has ever called me normal, but it does appear the website seems to be back as such.

I know this because good ol' D2 looks as ugly as ever. [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I can't speak on what would have caused the forum's look and feel to change, but at least the IP change appears to have had little impact on people.

Hmmm, could it be because Monte is a MAC kind of guy?  Had a strange screen briefly yesterday when I checked at work but since then it's been snappy.   Good work guys.

Here's an update.

Due to the technical nature of the upgrade, the look and feel issue described earlier is a temporary issue that people could experience at random for the next day.. Once the the new IP stuff has completely cycled through, that issue will correct itself.

Don't worry about the missing images, white background or any 404 errors you might encounter.  These issues will resolve themselves with a short amount of time.

The unusual format that has been showing up today, was the original format for this site when "Sloth", aka Jim Taggart was site operator/moderator when I first joined R65.org about 11 years ago .

Just thought I'd ad my two pennyworth - here in Oz (11am) the site is working fine and does seem to be much quicker to load pages. A job weel done it seems - excellent stuff ..............

There should be no format changes but it's very possible that if you are getting to the site by r65.org the redirect might not be working on sloth's old page.

Once all of the migration is finished up things should return to normal...
