Tragic. And so close after Dan Wheldon's crash at the Las Vegas IRL race.

There are already several film clips on YouTube. They are difficult to watch.

At turn eleven, Marco fell directly in front of Texan Colin Edwards -who suffered a dislocated shoulder- and Valentino Rossi. Edwards hit Simoncelli straight on before falling himself and knocking into Rossi. Simoncelli's helmet came off as he fell between the two bikes.

Race was stopped and canceled at seven laps. 67,000+ fans, without knowledge of what had occurred, basically went ape.

Take a moment and say a prayer.
