Wanted, digital or analog!

Recently I stumbled over Google Sketchup and as I have looked for a 3D application easy to use for a very long time I was quite taken with its very intuitive and easy interface.

I have just finished an interesting little project made on basis of the most detailed and well drawn Danish map, which was surveyed and drawn from 1850-1880:



and I am very much satisfied with the result.

To be even more proficient I began on another and more difficult task, to make a model of our beloved r65 and have already finished with the front wheel:



But my little project has run into difficulties as I need the proper dimensions and now I hope that some of you can help me.

I've used Sketch Up for bits and bobs in the past. As you said, it's very easy to pick up.

Have you found the plug in for exporting a web page for your model yet? It's Google's so probably on their site.

The page may take a while to load as it's actually 35 seperate images and not actually a 3D model.

That is too cool!  I love it.  I'll have to see about using this too when I get some time.  Looks like fun!

Thanks for bumping this, Melena!  I had forgotten about it, totally missed it being a Google (free) application, and I have a real need for it, so I can make a drawing of my handlebar riser extentions I hope to have made from the handlebar clamps recently received from the very fine "cad jim"!

Now I just have to find a machine shop willing to take on small piece-work.

What kind of handle bar risers are you looking for?  I have some barbacks that I'm not using anymore.  They lift the handlebars up and towards the driver.

I'm going for minimum rise right now Aïda, but I may indeed consider them in the future.  But I don't want to have to cut up my dash panel.
